11 Super Easy 4th of July DIY Decorations for Your Home

It is hard to believe that the 4th of July is just around the corner again! And in the spirit of celebrating our nation’s independence, we are going to decorate our homes and yards with red, white, and blue! But our lives get busy and it can become very difficult to decorate our homes the way we dream of – magazine perfect! The key is to find decorations that are easy to make and affordable to buy!

DIY decorations are the way to go! There are some amazing, affordable ways to make your home look like a million bucks – without spending your hard-earned cash.

Below are 11 amazing DIY 4th of July decorations that will make your home look amazing!

1.) Large Wall Flag

This beautiful American flag accent is about as easy as it can get! Draping a large flag over the fireplace mantel, behind the couch, or on your living room wall is a beautiful statement piece for your 4th of July festivities!

2.) Patriotic Mason Jar with LED Light

All you need for this beautiful DIY decoration is a few flags, mason jars, LED lights, and sand. Remove the flags from the sticks and tuck them down inside the jars. At night, these little jars will glow a light on the flags, illuminating the spirit of patriotism! I absolutely love these!

3.) Glass Jar with Beans

This statement piece looks best with apothecary jars – any size honestly! All you need is red, white, and black beans (which look blue). The best part is, when the holiday is past, you can still have a summer cookout with baked beans!

4.) 4th of July Banner

This flag banner can be hung anywhere! Living room wall, dining room mirror, over a door, on the front porch, over the fireplace, etc. The good part is that they are very affordable – just a few dollars at your local Target or Walmart! Or, if you’d prefer to create one yourself, all you need are some flags, twine, and miniature clothespins.

5.) Painted Jar Vases

These painted mason jar vases are one of my favorite DIY patriotic projects! They are Joanna Gaines-approved and incredibly cute! Just a few small containers of paint and a little brush will create an adorable decorative accent that you can pull out every July 4th!

6.) Independence Paper Chain

These paper chains are a perfect way to get the kids involved in your 4th of July celebrations! Family craft time! You can hang these chains in their bedrooms or around the house, so the kids can proudly display their patriotic handiwork!

7.) Dyed Water Vases

These adorable red, white, and blue vases are all thanks to some water and a few drops of red and blue food coloring. Just be careful to experiment with how many drops of each coloring you’ll need. A little goes a long way and you do not want your colors to be too deep.

10.) Tissue-Paper Fans

Pro Tip: If you don’t have sand, you can always use oatmeal!
