Calling all shoe lovers! You know that amazing feeling you get when you buy a new pair of shoes? You can’t wait to get home and pick out an outfit that goes perfectly with your new footwear! But, those lovely pair of shoes just ends up stuffed in a disorganized closet – unnoticed and rarely worn. The only way to solve this problem is to find an easy shoe organization system!
When you have your shoes neatly organized and in plain view, you are far more likely to wear them more often and not keep the pairs that you really don’t like. Double bonus – more fashion, less clutter!

If you are looking for an easy shoe storage idea, this is it! Not only does it look super cute, but it is also perfect for a home or apartment with very little space! This tutorial gives you all the measurements and a step-by-step guide to building this from scratch. And, if you don’t like the natural wood look, you can always paint it to match your decor style!
2.) DIY Grid Shoe Storage Display
The wire mesh used in this project is often used as display panels in boutiques and consignment shops. This shoe storage idea is brilliant – especially if you have no room in your closet like me! You can lean the wire mesh against the back wall of your closet or bedroom, leaving the floor free of shoe clutter.
3.) Shoe Shelf

The shoe shelf is the perfect solution to your footwear clutter – as long as you have a large master bedroom or closet. You can arrange your shoes in order of color and style – making it easy for you to make a style decision just before running out the door!
4.) Shoe Cubbies
This shoe organizer is slightly different than the shoe shelf, providing each pair of shoes their own little storage box to save some extra space. You can purchase these shoe organizers here on Amazon.
5.) Farmhouse-Style Shoe Storage

Since I am a big fan of farmhouse decor style (especially these amazing farmhouse decor projects), I had to add this one to the mix! These vintage crates are a classy way to store your kids shoes near the front entryway.
6.) Industrial Kitchen Racks – Shoe Shelf Edition

Although the author of this article does not specify what this shelving system is, it looks exactly like the industrial kitchen shelves I’ve seen in restaurant kitchens! You should be able to purchase these (or something similar) at your local hardware store!
7.) Over-the-Door Shoe Rack
If you are fortunate enough to have a door on you closet, this shoe shelf is the perfect solution for your shoe problem! You can find this shoe rack here, on Amazon.com.
8.) Shoe Crates

Here I go again with the Farmhouse Decor style! But these shoe crates are too cute to pass up! You can recreate this look by buying several different sized crates – each to fit you and your family’s shoe sizes. To fit with your decor style, you can even paint the crates to create an entryway statement piece!
9.) Closet Hanging Shelves
I know this style of shoe shelf may seem very unoriginal. But sometimes the ordinary way is the best way! Plus, this shoe shelf got me through college dorm life and my first tiny apartment. And I still have it, hanging in my spare bedroom holding extra shoes that I really need to throw out! You can find this shoe rack here on Amazon.com
10.) DIY Wooden Shoe Rack

This DIY shoe rack is a great way to keep your shoes organized by the front door or in the coat closet. Growing up, my Dad use to build these for us to use during the winter months. We would place them over the floor heaters and put our wet boots and gloves on them, so they would be dry the next day. Brilliant! You can find the tutorial here.
BONUS: ONE MORE SHELF

I couldn’t leave out this shoe shelf! Similar to the shelf in #3, this footwear organization system is a great way to create a display case of shoes. And what is more wonderful than shoes?!
Organizing your shoes will help to clear out your closet and maybe even get rid of a few unnecessary pairs. Also, shoes that are stored properly last a lot longer! That is my #1 reason for storing shoes in a proper manner. P.S. – #3 is my favorite way to store shoes.
